Agenda:

Station 1: Teacher Tutorial
Location: Back Room Couches
Supplies: Your Writer’s Notebook, pen/pencil 

This station will meet with me.  We will review the information from your reading diagnostic, chat a bit about vocabulary, and set goals for the next few weeks.

Station 2: Word Collectors
Location: Hallway
Supplies: Writer's Notebook, “This is Water,” “Pale Blue Dot”

At this station, you will work as a group to examine word choice in our two text from this week. After collecting words, you will use them to identify patterns in language within and across texts.

Station 3: "Unknown" Argument Exemplar Analysis
Location: Classroom Desks
Supplies: "Unknown" Argument Exemplars, AP Argument Rubric, Exemplar Analysis Form

At this station, you will work collaboratively to read & assess some exemplar essays, and to understand the AP Argument Rubric and how it is applied to timed writing.

Station 4: "Unknown" Argument Self-evaluation
Location: Classroom Desks
Supplies: Your "Unknown" Argument Draft, AP Argument Rubric, Exemplar Analysis Form

At this station, you will work individually to assess your own argument draft according to the criteria put forward by the AP Argument Rubric.  You will also reflect on your successes and failures in this first attempt and make a plan for your writing going forward.

Homework:
  • They Say, I Say, Forward & Introduction Qs (Due Wednesday).
